POOL FAQS

Pool FAQs

All Pure Pool Service is the ultimate in water treatment for your pool. Our company services over 1,800 pools each week and have been specializing in dependable quality service and repairs since 1980. We welcome you and appreciate your business.

Chemicals

We apply the finest chemicals to your swimming pool water, including specially blended liquid chlorine that is unavailable in retail stores. We also add other chemicals used to balance and maintain your pool chemistry for the ultimate in algae, bacteria, and virus-free water. Studies conducted by university students concluded that pools serviced by professional pool service technicians provided a much more sanitary swimming environment than pools maintained by the pool owners.

We perform the testing and add all the necessary chemicals. With proper filtration, your pool will provide a safe swimming environment for your family and guests. FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR FAMILY, WE DO NOT STORE ANY CHEMICALS AT YOUR HOME.

Conditioner

We have an annual conditioning fee, which includes all chemicals necessary for the proper conditioning of your pool. Conditioning is necessary throughout the year. The bulk of conditioning is done in April and May. Additional conditioner is added throughout the year as necessary. If your pool has a greater than normal water loss because of leaks, we must charge for the extra conditioner.

Filter maintenance program

All Pure also offers a filter maintenance program that provides for a complete filter breakdown every four months. Our Executive Service is available for an additional price per month (new filter grids not included in price).

Service

Our service is priced and geared for 49 weeks of year round service.

With our service you will probably notice a marked improvement in water clarity as well as having a more comfortable pool in which to swim. You might also notice that we are extremely efficient and will perform all of our duties at your pool quickly. We perform our service each week with the exception of the weeks containing Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year holidays. Our personnel will add sufficient chemicals prior to these holidays to ensure that your pool remains chlorinated and balanced. Memorial Day, Labor Day and Independence Day are regular service days unless you advise us to skip any of those days. If you plan a large swim party, call our office the week before and we will add extra chemicals at no extra charge. Remember that there should be no swimmers in the pool for one hour after servicing. This should be the case when any chemical is added to the water.

A service record card will be kept inside your timer box, which documents the date and time that your pool was serviced. We will empty your skimmer basket as part of our service. Certain chemicals that we add may require circulation of the pool water during application. On these occasions, we will activate your pump during service. If your pool has above normal use during the warmest months of the summer season, we may apply dry forms of chlorine through a floater that will be refilled and maintained by our service. This will provide a continuous release of chlorine

Free Pool Service

Refer any friend or neighbor who lives in your area to our service, and we will be happy to credit your account with one month of free chemical service. The new customer must mention your name while scheduling service, and you will receive credit when that customer completes one month of paid service. There is no limit to the number of free months you can receive for referrals.

The Pool Owners' Responsibilites

Filtration

PROPER WATER FILTRATION AND CIRCULATION ARE EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. Your filter should be cleaned when the filtration pressure gauge indicates a 6-8 pound increase in pressure above the clean pressure. Diatomaceous Earth and Cartridge filters should be serviced at least semi- annually, replacing any worn parts and thoroughly cleaning the filter grids. The filter element(s) in Cartridge filters need to be replaced every two to three years, or more frequently if required.

For proper filtration, your filter should be set to run the following number of hours per day:

Diatomaceous Earth Filter: 9-11 hours
Cartridge Filter: 10-12 hours
Sand Filter: 11-13 hours

During periods of heavy use and higher temperatures, filter operating time should increase to accommodate the workload.

Cloudy Water

This condition is a result of insufficient filtration or an indication of a problem with your filtration system.

Algae

Because some strains of algae are more resistant than others, please allow us a reasonable period of time to completely eradicate it. The more resistant black algae will turn grey as it starts to die and will eventually disappear. Keeping your pool clean and brushing the black algae with a stainless steel brush will aid in the treatment of algae.

Please note: Proper filtration, as well as chemistry, is necessary to keep your pool sparkling clear and algae free

Swimming Pool Products and Repair

Our repair technicians are qualified to repair all types of pool equipment, including filters, pumps and sweeps at very competitive prices. We also offer filter cleaning and other services.

Access

Please provide easy access for our personnel. If you keep your gate locked, please provide us with a key or combination. Unfriendly dogs, or dogs that attempt to escape when the gate is opened, should be locked up on service days. Because our very competitive service charge is based on effective use of time, we do not ring doorbells to gain access. Please be certain that young children are not in the pool area while the pool is being serviced. There are no credits for lockouts.

Covers

The customer is responsible for the removal of the cover on the day of service. If the cover is not removed, our service personnel will pull it back halfway only to treat the pool. All Pure is not liable for care, maintenance, or damage to pool covers.

Solutions to Eye Irritation

1. Keep your pool clean & properly filtered.
2. Take precautions to keep urine out of the pool.
3. Shower before entering the pool.
4. Do not add fresh water before you swim.
5. Remove pool covers during the daytime hours.

Colored Plaster Pools

The swimming pool industry is fully aware that all colored plaster pools become mottled and blotched sooner or later. Quite often a light colored ring will appear around the main drain or the plaster will appear uneven in color. This condition is typical of all colored plasters and is simply the nature of these surfaces. There is nothing that can be done from a service point of view to prevent or cure the blotching, streaking or mottling that will occur. Blotching may be gradual or appear seemingly overnight, even after the pool is several years old. All pool builders or plaster companies require their customers to acknowledge that blotching is a normal occurance in colored plaster pools.

Billing

Our charges are based on annual costs of service, hence the monthly rate.  We bill monthly in advance for our service, and payment is due by the 15th of the month being serviced. A late payment charge of $20.00 will be added to any unpaid balance. A return check charge of $25.00 is applicable to any check that is dishonored for any reason. Delinquent accounts will be liable for any court costs and all costs of collection, as well as past due balances.

A collection charge of $100.00 will be applied to any delinquent account which is submitted for collection or court action.
